Description: Yellow granule, coated with Palm stearin
Butyric acid serves as an important energy source for intestinal epithelial cells, improving the growth, recovery and differentiation of intestinal villi. Increased villi length (up to 30%) expands absorption surface area, leading to improved feed intake (up to 10% increase).
Butyric acid enters microbial cells in undissociated form. Within the cell, it releases protons in alkaline environments, decreasing intracellular pH. This pH reduction disrupts microbial metabolism, forcing cells to expend energy expelling protons, ultimately leading to cell death.
