Main properties of sodium butyrate.
(1) Growth promotion. Butyric acid is known to be an important energy source for intestinal epithelial cells, it improve the growth,recovery and differentiation of intestinal villi, villi length increased up to 30%, and feed intake increased up to 10%.
(2) strong antibacterial effectr. Butric aicd enters the microbial cell in undissociated form to decrease pH, microbial cells try to excrete proton by using its energy and ultimately end up to death.
