Effect of Different kinds of Butyrate on Production performance, apparent digestibility and economic benefits in Layer

1 Materias and method                                                                        ,

1.1 exprimental animals and Group

1008 of 48-weeks old B380 layers were allocated randomly into 4 treatments, 6  replicates per treatment, 42 layers per replication, fed for 60 days. Treatment 1 is; control group, which was fed with basal diet; treatment 2 is Sodium butyrate group, which was fed with basal diet+300ppm Sodium butyrate; Treatment 3 is 50% coated Sodium butyrate, which was fed with basal diet+ 300ppm 50% coated Sodium butyrate; treatment 4 is group Calcium Sodium Butyrate, which was fed with basal diet+300ppm Calcium butyrate.

1.2 feed and management

All layers were fed preliminarily for 1 week before experiment, layers were kept in 3-tier-type poultry cage, one replication occupied 3 tiers, 5 cages per tier, 3 layers per cag, except for 2 layers per cage in 2 cages of third tiers.  All layers were fed twice each day (8:00 and l4:00),eggs were collected in 17:00. Nipple drinker, free access to wate. supplementary lighting in the morning and evening, illumination hous is 16h／d. The temperature was recorded at 8:30 am and 2:30 pm respectivel, moisture was recorded in the whold day, cages were cleaned regularly.

2 conclusions

3.1 the trial result indicated that: when daily ration of layers are added with Sodium butyrate, calcium

butyrate or 50% coated Sodium butyrate, the production performance of layer are improved to varing

degrees, adding Sodium butyrate and calcium butyrate can increase the laying rate and decrease the

feed-gain ratio significantly, their results are better than that of 50% coated Sodium butyrate.

4.2 Adding butyrate into daily ration of layers can improve the use ratio of nutrients, use ratio of crude protein, phosphorus and engery are increased significantly.

4.3 Adding Sodium butyrate, calcium butyrate or 50% coated Sodium butyrate into daily ration of layers can increase the economic benefict of layers, adding calcium butyrate got the best profit, adding sodium butyrate is the second best.
