Effect of Different kinds of Butyrate on egg quality in Layer
1 Materia and method ,
1.1 experimental animals and Group
1008 of 48-weeks old B380 layers were allocated randomly into 4 treatments, 6 replicates per treatment, 42 layers per replication, fed for 60 days. Treatment 1 is; control group, which was fed with basal diet; treatment 2 is Sodium butyrate group, which was fed with basal diet+300ppm Sodium butyrate; Treatment 3 is 50% coated Sodium butyrate, which was fed with basal diet+ 300ppm 50% coated Sodium butyrate; treatment 4 is group Calcium Butyrate, which was fed with basal diet+300ppm Calcium butyrate.
1.2 Sample collection and storage
At the end of trial, collected 18 eggs each group (3 eggs each replication), storage them in 4 ℃ refrigerator.
2 Result and analysis
Table 5 showed that, there is no significant difference in egg sharp index between each experimental group and control group(P>0.05); eggshell thickness of group Calcium butyrate is the thickest, there is extremely significant difference between group Calcium butyrate and the other 3 groups(P﹤0.01), group 50% coated Sodium butyrate is 8.25% higher than control group, group Sodium butyrate is the same as control group basically; Specific gravity of Calcium butyrate is the maximum, there is significant difference between Group Calcium butyrate and Group Sodium butyrate (P﹤0.05), there is no significant difference among other groups (P﹤0.05); Hough unit of Calcium butyrate is the best, there is significant difference between Calcium butyrate and other groups (P﹤0.01), Hough unit of Group 50% coated Sodium butyrate and Group Sodium butyrate is 1.1% and 3.8% higher than that of control group, but there is no significant difference(P>0.05).
3 conclusions
The result indicated that, protein consistency of Group Calcium butyrate is the highest, quality of protein is the best. Hough unit of Group Calcium butyrate proves it has better nutritional properties. Calcium butyrate can improve absorption and utilization of microelements to improve the eggshell quality.
This trial showed that, dietary supplementation of butyrate in daily ration of layers can improve the egg quality, effect of Calcium butyrate is better than Sodium butyrate and 50% coated Sodium butyrate.
